Weekly report from 13th May to 18th May, 2019
2019年 06月 13日
At the week, we worked with the organization Takarabako for the first time. This organization mainly supports disabled people. I heard that they had to travel one hour by car to the location. It’s a long way, I think. Our duty on that day was collecting the firewood and taking care of Takarabako’s members.
From my own point of view, this kind of outside activities has lots of benefit for the members: (1) They are able to work outside and experience instead of staying inside. (2) It may bring them a sense of achievement when they complete doing something. That hopefully helps bringing about some positive attitude and remind that they are also part of this community.
This week we also continued to cut grass at Wanibachi. As far as I see, it’s going to take us probably a couple days more to finish maintaining the needed paddy fields. We will try our best to keep up the work.
On the last working day before the 2-day break, Hanin prepared food for the goat and I sharpened the blades in the morning and we together cut the big wood in the afternoon using one kind of electric saw. It’s a completely new experience for both of us. We manage to finish them all. This week, we plan to visit Fukuoka and Hanin are going to meet the girls, whom she knew at the Tea – Event a couple weeks ago.(Tri)
